Review: The Furminator

I don’t write reviews for a living, nor am I being compensated by FURminator Inc. but I felt that anyone that had a cat or dog that sheds would definitely benefit from my experience with this life saving piece of equipment.

The Furminator

I found out about this product about a year ago, and I read all the reviews about how great this thing is despite it’s high price tag ( $50+) for a dog brush. So I ended up siding with the folks that thought this brush is too good to be true. There’s no way a brush could pull out all that hair (click on the link to see an example of how much hair was removed from the Golden Retriever)

So time went on and my dog, Reesey, would brush her ass up on my couch and I’d see a nice trail of hair. I’d break out the lint remover – rip off the old paper – and run it against my couch. Done. We’d have to do this EVERY time Reesey would roll up near the couch. Not only that we’d see clumps of hair on our hardwood floor as well as in the corners of the carpet. It’s getting closer to summer so Reesey’s hair is clumping off now, I’d see her walk by and a clumps the size of quarters are sticking out of her coat, just waiting to be rubbed of on a piece of furniture or our clothes.

I got fed up last week. I hit up Petco and bought the medium Furminator as it comes in three different sizes. Got home and went to town on her. I sh*t you not. This thing is freakin’ amazing. I ran it against her top coat and I had a handful of hair on the end of the brush. I ran it again on the same spot and an equally sized handful of hair was chillin’ on the end of the brush. Then it started to get addicting. I was there for 1/2 an hour pulling as much as I could from her. I ended up filling a medium sized bag full of her hair.

After a few days of running the brush through her coat she looks a lot skinnier, and when I run the brush along her coat less and less hair is being removed. And our floors/furniture have much less hair on them

If you have a problem with dog/cat hair during shedding season, seriously think about getting this product.
